Leicester – A break-in at the Leicester Post Office left post office boxes ransacked, the postmaster and multiple postal workers confirmed to the Tribune. The 2520 New Leicester Highway location was broken into some time between 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17th and 8 a.m. Monday, October 19th, while the branch was closed over the weekend. Postal workers recognized and reported the burglary on Monday. Law enforcement officials instructed the postmaster to give no comments to the media, so exactly what was taken in the break-in remains unknown to the public. The crime was not found on the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department P2C website, and a postal worker who wished to remain anonymous said that the Postal Inspection Service would be the agency to investigate the break-in.
