Hendersonville – The wheels of justice turn slowly and during COVID-19 they’ve all but come to a stop. However, the office of District Attorney Greg Newman announced the following case dispositions from the recent Superior Court term in Henderson County, December 16th-18th, 2020

Recent Sentencings

David E. Barkley, of 212 Bell Ave, East Flat Rock, NC pled guilty to Larceny of a Motor Vehicle x3, Uttering Forged Instrument, Breaking and/or Entering x3, Larceny After Break/Enter x2, Possess Stolen Motor Vehicle, Injury to Person Property. Barkley was sentenced to 63 months active time & ordered to pay $8,810.39 in restitution to victims.

Roy L. Barnwell, of 25 Thunder Bay Lane, Hendersonville, NC, pled guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine. Barnwell was sentenced to 19 months of active time.

Robert C. Garrett, of 6081 Highway 212, Marshall, NC pled guilty to Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possess Stolen Firearm. Garrett was sentenced to 100 months of active time.

Janet L. Hendrickson, of 54 Friendly Circle, Hendersonville, NC pled guilty to Habitual DWI, DWLR- Impaired Revocation. Hendrickson was sentenced to 24 months active time & ordered to pay $5,938.42 in restitution to victims.

Lorin V. Rutherford, of 112 Rhodes Street, Hendersonville, NC pled guilty to Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling/Place CS. Rutherford was sentenced to 120 days active

Nathan Smith, of 268 Pressley Hill Road, Fletcher, NC pled guilty to Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer Inflicting Serious Injury, Assault on a Government Official, Resisting Public Officer, Communicating Threats. Smith was sentenced to 29 months of active time.

These cases were presided over by the Honorable Judge Peter Knight.
