Asheville – The City of Asheville’s Community Development (CD) Department is now accepting applications for the, “Home Investment Partnerships Program” (HOME) program. The federal program through Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides grant funds on a reimbursable basis to support affordable housing to low- and moderate-income households.
The funds may be used for a variety of purposes, including new construction, rental assistance and site improvements. The HOME program serves Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania and Madison Counties. Asheville City receives about $1.5 million each year in funding.
The deadline for applications is 5 pm Feb. 5, 2021. Community Development Staff are offering virtual assistance through the month of January (from Jan. 4-29). Prospective applicants may ask questions about the application and award process.
“To set up a 30-minute meeting for technical assistance, please email Christina Harris at charris@ashevillenc.gov,” said Polly McDaniel, a City of Asheville representative in a press release.
