Weaverville – Much of our daily routine has been upended by COVID-19 restrictions, but it might be time to take a lesson from a local scouting group about what to do with your spare time while also getting out of the house and doing a good deed. While abiding by the restrictions imposed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic (such as facemasks), many Scouts throughout WNC have continued to meet, camp, and perform community service. Recently, Scouts and leaders from Troop 15, sponsored by the Weaverville United Methodist Church, relocated a woodpile for an older church member who lives alone. Now she can easily access the wood from her porch to run her stove for the winter. This was just one of the troops’ many service projects.
