Recognizing Area Students’ Achievements

Western North CarolinaThe following area students have been recognized by the educational institutes of higher learning they attend: 

Bucknell University

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition. Olivia Sherman, class of 2021, from Asheville has achieved dean’s list status.

Bob Jones University

The following students are among approximately 900 Bob Jones University students named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2020 semester.

The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester:

•Hannah Bright, a Freshman Nursing from Hendersonville, was named to the Dean’s List.

•Rachel Macdonald, a Freshman Nursing from Hendersonville, was named to the Dean’s List.

•Matthias Robertson, a Junior Cross-Cultural Service from Arden, was named to the Dean’s List.

•Jacqueline Templeton, a Freshman Nursing from Asheville, was named to the Dean’s List.

•Elizabeth Tuttle, a Sophomore Biblical Counseling from Hendersonville, was named to the Dean’s List.

Southeast Missouri State University

Jessica Keller of Fletcher, NC, has been named to the Southeast Missouri State University Dean’s List for academic achievement during the fall 2020 semester. Students named to the list earned at least a 3.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, completed at least 12 hours of standard graded credit, achieved no grade below a B and received no failing grades in enrolled, credit/no credit or pass/fail courses.

Carson-Newman University

Mikayla Rice of Black Mountain has made Carson-Newman University Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester.

Lincoln Memorial University

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has announced Tyler McKinney, of Weaverville was placed on the Dean’s List for the Fall semester of 2020. To be placed on the Dean’s List, the student must be a full-time undergraduate and have a 3.5 or higher, grade-point average for the semester. 

Emory & Henry College

Emory & Henry College congratulates students named to Fall 2020 Dean’s list. To be named to the Dean’s list students must be full-time students and receive a 3.6 GPA for the semester. The following students have been named to the Emory & Henry College Dean’s list:

• Gaige Giger of Arden

• Dixiana Holliday of Asheville 

The University of Utah

The University of Utah congratulates named Nate Sprenger of Asheville, whose major is listed as Pre Architectural Studies BS, to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

Gettysburg College

Elijah Cormier of Alexander has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean’s Honor List for outstanding academic achievement in the Spring 2020 semester. Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the College’s Dean’s Honor List.
