Weaverville – The “battle of the jug” ended with the jug staying at North Buncombe after the BlackHawks (1-1) soundly defeated the Madison Patriots (0-1-1) Friday night 54- 27, according to the Scorestream app. The BlackHawk scored all their point in the first have of the game, with the last score being a pass to the endzone caught by Sophmore Spencer Roane (#4- 6’ 1” • 185 lbs – see side photo) making it 54 to 14 at the half with the PAT adding the extra point. The BlackHawks play at Enka (0-2) in a conference game Friday night at 7 pm, while the Patriots play a home conference game against Polk County.
