Weaverville – The Town of Weaverville paused Memorial Day (May 31st) to remember those who gave their last full measure for their country. In a ceremony held at the town hall, Weaverville Vice Mayor Doug Jackson introduced Ret. LtCol. Air Force Chaplin Richard Johnson (above left), who opened the ceremony with prayer. Weaverville resident Angie Moore (above right), followed by singing America the Beautiful and the Star-Spangled Banner. Weaverville resident Dusenbury then played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. LtCol. Johnson then gave the benediction for the 50 people who attended the event.
