Hendersonville – Downtown Merchants are preparing a party for everyone on July 10, with a special themed LoveHendo Saturday titled, “Celebrate: The Remix.” Did you miss a big birthday party in 2020? What about a wedding that got delayed, or an engagement that didn’t get the full celebration it deserved? Many graduations, proms, anniversaries and more were missed or reduced last year. As we turn the corner to a healthy and happy summer 2021, downtown Hendersonville wants to be your place to celebrate.
How to get involved
There are many ways to take part in this community-driven event.
Here are a few ways:
Reserve a spot at a downtown restaurant for your celebratory dinner or drinks
Want to get married on Main Street? Several downtown merchants are ordained and would like to host your ceremony right in the heart of Hendersonville for a truly unique wedding.

Merchants connected with each other to brainstorm unique and fun downtown activities.
“Last year, COVID-19 and the closures and event cancellations created uncertainty for downtown businesses,” said Jamie Carpenter, Downtown Manager with the City of Hendersonville, “But our downtown merchants stepped up to support each other and as they were brainstorming plans for 2021. They came up with the idea to celebrate our missed memories from 2020.”
Caroline Gunther, owner of Wag! A Unique Pet Boutique, is taking the event to the next level by coordinating two weddings right by her store on July 10.
“I put the word out on Facebook asking if anyone would like to hold their wedding on Main Street this summer and people thought I was kidding,” said Gunther, who is ordained and has presided weddings for friends. “They are real, legal weddings occurring right on Main Street. Who could ask for a more unique and memorable wedding day?”
All day on Saturday, July 10, Main Street is closed to vehicles from Allen Street to 6th Avenue. The cross streets will remain open for vehicles to traverse to the unique avenue businesses and downtown parking is available just a short walk from Main Street. Public restrooms are conveniently located at the Visitors Center on the south end of Main and 125 5th Avenue. In the evening, the Carolina Classic Car Club is rounding out the celebratory day with a car show on Main Street.
