North Buncombe – The North Buncombe Optimist Club presented awards to two outstanding educators in the North Buncombe area. The banquet was on August 19, 2021 at Gerald’s Fireplace Restaurant. The club presented a Lifetime Achievement Award for Promoting Excellence in Education to Robert “Bob” Embler and Robert “Bob” Nesbitt. According to club officials, these individuals were outstanding educators and community leaders. Ann Franklin, Chair of the Buncombe County Board of Education, participated in the program and presentations.
