Weaverville – At Weaverville’s September meeting of the town council, Mayor Patrick Fitzsimmons proclaimed Sept. 30th Steve Crawford Day. Crawford was the manager of Weaverville Ingles for the last 21 years and a life-long resident of the area. The 30th was Crawford’s last day of work before retiring.
The proclamation reads as follows:
WHEREAS, Steve Crawford is a lifelong resident of the Weaverville community and was a 1973 North Buncombe High School graduate; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Crawford served our community’s youth in coaching baseball and basketball, his church membership, and the larger
community as manager for our local Ingles markets for nearly 40 years; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Weaverville would like to acknowledge and extend appreciation to Mr. Crawford for his service, dedication and commitment to the Weaverville community;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Patrick Fitzsimmons, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Town of Weaverville, do hereby proclaim September 30, 2021, as Steve Crawford Day and extend to him the Town of Weaverville’s gratitude and appreciation for his dedicated service to our community.
