Biltmore Village – It was the perfect weekend for the annual Dickens Christmas event in Historic Biltmore Village. “There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour,” as quoted by Dickens himself. And so it was last weekend, as visitors and locals mingled streetside, listening to carolers, tasting warm chestnuts, taking in the music, and getting in some early shopping.
Young musicians performed on stage on the Village Green, during the Christmas Tree lighting on Friday evening as dusk approached. The spirit and merriment carried into Saturday, making the two-day event a lovely success once again.
For about 30 years now, the holiday event has signaled the start of the season’s festivities, and has attracted those from afar and near, to come celebrate with their families and loved ones. The Village offers an unparalleled shopping experience, with a variety of restaurants in a fully lit outdoor environment.
