Hendersonville LIVE Hunger Walk Sets 100k Goal

After two years of virtual events, the 40th annual Henderson County Hunger Coalition Hunger Walk, with its fundraising goal of $100,000, will be held, rain or shine, in Jackson Park on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 8:00 a.m. All funds raised will be distributed to various food pantries, which receive funds by means of an application. Blue Ridge Health, Calvary Episcopal Food Pantry, Council on Aging, Edneyville Community Food Pantry, Fishes and Loaves, the Hendersonville Rescue Mission, Interfaith Assistance Ministry, Safelight, the Salvation Army, the Storehouse, and SVDPS of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Walkers choose between a one-mile fun run (in Jackson Park) or a five-mile walk (the course leaves Jackson Park and meanders through downtown Hendersonville, finishing back in Jackson Park). No donation is too small or too large and donations can be made when you come to the walk, create your own walking team or by visiting the Henderson County Hunger Coalition website, hendersoncountyhungercoalition.org. The need is greater this year than ever before, so please share in the fun of the walk and the reward of giving to help feed those who are food insecure.
