Rain forced the annual Weaverville Veteran's Day program to be held inside the Community Center at Dottie Sherrill Knoll on Friday (Nov. 11th). The annual event is presented by the Patriotic Committee of Weaverville and featured the North Buncombe High Navy ROTC, who presented the colors (seen above). Veteran's Day was originally known as Armistice Day honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Held on November 11th every year, it is the day when the armistice ending World War I took place on the eleventh month on the 11th day at 11 am of 1918.
