Asheville – Sleep in on January 1, 2023, then go to Pack Square to start the year off well! Your first healthy resolve may be completed in a New Year’s Resolution Run, whether you run, walk, or crawl!

The New Year’s Resolution Run 5K and 10K, now in its ninth year, will begin in Asheville’s downtown on January 1, 2023, with a respectable 10 a.m. start time. The route is dog- and running stroller-friendly, making it the ideal way to start the new year with family fitness objectives!

The 10K route takes runners through Asheville’s downtown and nearby North Asheville neighborhoods, including the stunning, well-known Grove Park neighborhood, before returning to the city center to run up North Market Street on the last remaining block of Asheville’s distinctive, historic cobblestone brick pavers to the finish line.

Each participant will get a stylish finisher medal for 2023. The top three male and female finishers overall in the 10k will receive cash awards. Before August 28th at midnight, participants who registered for the event will get a free comfortable short-sleeve Comfort Colors shirt. They also have the opportunity to upgrade to a cozy long-sleeve Comfort Colors shirt for $10.

The New Year’s Resolution Run is a brand-new event for 2023 and a part of iDaph’s new Holiday Hustle series! On New Year’s Day, participants who run in these events—the South Asheville Turkey Trot on November 24, the Ugly Sweater Run on December 3, and the New Year’s Resolution Run on January 1—will receive a really awesome, additional medal! There is no better way to get through the holidays than by maintaining motivation and reaching your objectives, since everyone knows that runners adore the bling!

The Asheville Humane Society and the iDream Athletes Foundation will receive donations from the Resolution Run as part of our continued efforts to give back to our neighborhood. Every animal in our neighborhood is saved and protected by the Asheville Humane Society. They have perfected the art of saving lives and promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and their pets. iDream Athletes Foundation is a tax-exempt non-profit that offers needs-based scholarships to young people and adults in WNC who are unable to pay for equipment needed for training or competing in events, coaching costs, or entry fees to sports events.
