Saluda – A mountain-based community theater is preparing to transport audiences “under the sea” with their upcoming production. The esteemed Saluda-based Mountain Page Theater will mesmerize audiences with Disney’s beloved musical, The Little Mermaid, taking place on May 17, 18, 19, 24, and 25, 2024.
Auditions for children will be held on January 11 at 4 p.m., while adults can audition on January 13 at 11 a.m. or on January 16 at 5 p.m. The eagerly awaited cast list will be unveiled no later than January 19. Both auditions and performances will grace the beautiful stage of the Mountain Page Theater, nestled at 1303 Mountain Page Road in Saluda.
At auditions, aspiring actors will be requested to showcase their vocal prowess by singing for at least 30 seconds and perform a captivating monologue from the script. Performers have the option to select a song from the show itself or choose any other melody that showcases their magnificent vocal range. For those who may feel nervous or unprepared, familiar tunes such as “Happy Birthday” or “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” are also acceptable choices. Actors should dress comfortably in an outfit that allows for movement and dance during auditions. Individual auditions are estimated to take approximately fifteen minutes.
Mountain Page Theater warmly welcomes performers of all ages and experience levels, providing a diverse range of rehearsal schedules for The Little Mermaid. Rehearsals can occur one to three days per week, offering flexibility to accommodate the availability of each actor.

This enchanting rendition of The Little Mermaid marks the second Disney musical presented by the esteemed Mountain Page Theater, following the resounding success of their sold-out production of Mary Poppins in November 2023.
Mountain Page Theater, which found its permanent theatrical home amidst the scenic landscapes of rural Henderson County in 2020, has been captivating audiences since its inception. The collaboration between the Saluda Theater Troupe and Young Acting Krew (YAK) began as early as 2017, leading to exceptional performances that have left audiences spellbound.
