Henderson – SELEE Corporation, a division of Porvair plc and leader in metal filtration technology, has announced a $7 million investment to expand its operations in Henderson County. This investment includes $4.5 million aimed at personal property improvements at their Hendersonville facility, which has been a key part of the local manufacturing sector for over 40 years.
The expansion will allow SELEE to retain more than 110 jobs, with an average salary of $70,350, significantly above the county-wide average. Watt Jackson, President of SELEE, expressed enthusiasm about the decision, stating, “Investing in an expansion of this facility will allow us to improve production and retain over 110 employees. We are excited to continue giving back to the community that gives so much to us.”
SELEE is known for pioneering ceramic foam technology in metal filtration, contributing to various industries, including food and beverage, aerospace, and automotive. The company’s commitment to innovation has positioned it as a leader in filtration and melt treatment processes.
Henderson County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Rebecca McCall highlighted the importance of supporting existing industries, stating, “Henderson County’s strong economy relies on companies like SELEE investing in their growth here.”
The expansion is supported by an economic development assistance grant from Henderson County, which incentivizes job creation and capital investment. Companies must meet established targets and pay taxes before receiving any grant payments.
