Hot Springs – Sip on delightful beverages while making a difference in your community at the upcoming Sip and Support series hosted by Vast Riviere Provisions. Following the inaugural event on August 30th, which aims to raise awareness and funds for the Community Housing Coalition (CHC) of Madison County, the second event is scheduled for September 27th. This monthly gathering is designed to be a win-win: enjoy a night out while helping those in need at the same time.

Vast Riviere Provisions has a rich history of hosting successful tasting events, and this new initiative focuses on the essential work of CHC in improving living conditions for residents facing unsafe housing situations. With one in four people in Madison County living in substandard conditions, the need for support is critical. “Our goal for these tastings is to raise awareness about CHC’s vital work,” said Sarah Pike, Marketing and Communications Manager for CHC. “Each contribution helps fund our home repair programs.”

The Sip and Support events take place from 5 to 7 PM, featuring a selection of wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options paired with delicious hors d’oeuvres. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore Vast Riviere’s extensive range of specialty foods and drinks, as well as the fly fishing shop located at the back of the store.

The Community Housing Coalition has been dedicated to providing essential home repairs for low-income residents for over 20 years. Their mission focuses on promoting healthy, safe, and affordable housing through advocacy, education, and resource development. Proceeds from the Sip and Support events will directly benefit CHC’s programs, including the Urgent Repair Program, which addresses critical health and safety issues in homes.

“CHC is a champion of the area and truly demonstrates the values of being a good neighbor,” shared Keith Calloway, owner of Vast Riviere Provisions. “In rural WNC, we need the support of community and neighbors to navigate unique challenges.” This partnership between Vast Riviere and CHC exemplifies how local businesses can play a pivotal role in uplifting their communities.

Attendees can expect not just great drinks and food but also an atmosphere filled with community spirit. “Many guests have enjoyed these tastings in the past, and we anticipate even more people will come to discover Vast Riviere Provisions and learn about CHC through this unique event,” noted Pike.

The Sip and Support series is set to occur on the last Friday of each month, creating a regular opportunity for locals to gather, socialize, and contribute to a meaningful cause. “We have enjoyed the learning process and seeing so many people come out for the experience,” added Calloway. “To have an opportunity to give back so directly is truly special.”
