Support for First Responders: A Collaborative Retreat Initiative

In the wake of Helene's devastation, the need for mental health support for our First Responders has never been more urgent. The Living Medicine Institute, Responder Support Services (RSS), and Concierge Medicine and Psychiatry are joining forces to raise funds for a retreat aimed at supporting the therapists who work tirelessly with these brave individuals. The trauma faced by First Responders in western North Carolina is profound, and the therapists at RSS are on the front lines, helping them navigate their experiences. However, these therapists also require support to continue their vital work. This collaborative effort seeks to provide a two-day retreat for RSS therapists, allowing them to recharge and gain the tools necessary to better assist those they serve. "We hope to schedule the first retreat this month or in November at Rites of Passage Council's donated retreat site near Asheville," said a representative from Living Medicine Institute. The funds raised will cover essential costs such as event spaces, staffing, food, and lodging. You can contribute to this important cause by donating through the GoFundMe campaign linked here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-fund-retreats-for-first-responder-therapists. Your support will make a significant difference in the lives of both therapists and the First Responders they assist.
