Asheville – Lovesac, a home furnishings and technology-driven company, announced a significant partnership with Habitat for Humanity aimed at enhancing community support through product donations and volunteer efforts. This collaboration reflects Lovesac’s commitment to its “Designed for Life” philosophy, which emphasizes sustainability and community engagement.

Ongoing Product Donations and Volunteer Initiatives

To date, Lovesac has contributed over $600,000 worth of products, including its popular Sactionals and Sacs, to Habitat for Humanity. These items are sold through Habitat’s extensive network of more than 900 ReStores, generating funds that support local communities across the nation. This year, the company pledged to donate a minimum of $150,000 in products, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability and community support.

In addition to regular donations, Lovesac is responding to disaster-impacted areas by providing over $400,000 in products to Habitat ReStores in regions affected by recent climate events. This includes support for communities in North Carolina following Hurricane Helene and Los Angeles after devastating wildfires. Shawn Nelson, Founder and CEO of Lovesac, emphasized the importance of these contributions, stating, “By providing our Lovesac products to the Asheville, NC area affiliates, we support local efforts to restore homeowner services and assist those recovering from recent climate events.”

The selection process for donated products focuses on sustainability. Nelson explained that the items donated are often those used in showrooms or at events, allowing gently used models to find new homes. “Lovesac products are built to last a lifetime and designed to evolve with you,” he noted. The company aims to minimize waste by ensuring that even consumable parts are designed for replacement or recycling.

Beyond financial contributions and product donations, Lovesac plans to engage its employees in Volunteer Build Days. These events will allow Lovesac staff to work alongside Habitat for Humanity teams to construct and refurbish homes. Nelson described this aspect of the partnership as “natural and synergistic,” highlighting the shared values of sustainability and community support between the two organizations.

As the partnership develops, Lovesac intends to explore additional ways to support communities affected by disasters. Nelson stated, “We’ll be looking to support additional communities that may be impacted by disasters and to identify new ways in which Lovesac can meaningfully be involved in Habitat’s programming.”

The structure of the Volunteer Build Days will be designed to ensure meaningful engagement with Habitat’s mission. Lovesac plans to coordinate these events during connection events held throughout the year. During these gatherings, the company will collaborate with Habitat to identify specific needs within the communities they serve. “We will work with the Habitat team to identify needs in those connection event communities where we can partner to provide support for Habitat in whatever way is most impactful,” Nelson explained.

This partnership not only aims to provide immediate assistance through product donations but also seeks to foster long-term relationships between Lovesac employees and local communities. By actively participating in building efforts, Lovesac hopes to create a lasting impact on the lives of those served by Habitat for Humanity.
