Women Unite for Creativity and Connection at North Carolina Retreat

Canton – “After Hurricane Helene, many women feel lost and overwhelmed,” reflects Renee Trudeau, the driving force behind the upcoming North Carolina Women’s Conference. “We’re creating a space where they can ask themselves, ‘What is uniquely mine to do?'” This April 25th, at the serene Lake Logan Retreat Center, Trudeau and her team are set to welcome over 100 women from across the state for a day of reflection, creativity, and empowerment.

Gathering in the Wake of Adversity

In the aftermath of a storm that left many feeling adrift, this retreat serves as a beacon of hope. “Women are coming together to spark, collaborate, and remind one another that our ability to innovate and support each other is stronger than ever,” Trudeau explains. The conference promises not just a respite from the chaos but a chance to reconnect with one’s purpose amidst uncertainty.

The lineup is as inspiring as it is diverse, featuring local thought leaders and creatives who have weathered their own storms. Among them are Erin Hallagan Clare of Story Parlor, Kristen Edge of ArtPlay, and Annie Fain Barralon from FainHouse and the John C. Campbell Folk School. “These women have shown incredible resilience,” Trudeau notes. “They’ll share how to ‘tend to their fire’ and stay alive in their work and volunteer lives.”

Empowerment Through Connection

The day will unfold with a vibrant panel discussion on creativity and well-being, where attendees can glean insights from those who have turned adversity into opportunity. “When women gather intentionally to uplift and resource one another, amazing things happen,” Trudeau asserts. “These gatherings often spark ideas and partnerships that last for decades.”

In addition to the panel, participants can expect a day filled with rejuvenating activities—live music, a sunset wine-tasting guided by Wine Sage Merchant + Wine Bar, and opportunities for personal reflection. “It’s about refilling your well,” Trudeau emphasizes. “We want every woman to leave feeling inspired and connected.”

Recognizing the financial strain many have faced due to the hurricane, the conference offers a $30 discount for affected women and a limited number of scholarships. “We want to ensure that everyone has access to this experience,” Trudeau states. “It’s crucial that we support our community during this time.”

A Legacy of Empowerment

Trudeau’s commitment to women’s empowerment spans three decades. As an internationally recognized author and speaker, she has dedicated her career to curating retreats and leadership events that foster growth and connection among women. Her work has been featured in prominent publications like *Good Housekeeping* and *O Magazine*, solidifying her status as a thought leader in the field.

“The outcomes of this retreat will ripple through Western North Carolina,” she predicts. “When women come together with intention, they create a powerful force for change.” With a portion of the conference proceeds going to support local female artists affected by Hurricane Helene, the impact of this gathering extends beyond the retreat itself.

As the April 25th date approaches, excitement builds for what promises to be a transformative experience. “We’re looking forward to connecting our attendees and supporting ongoing initiatives,” Trudeau concludes. “This is just the beginning.”
