Asheville – Spring arrived at The Radical, a boutique hotel in Asheville, North Carolina, bringing with it a vibrant lineup of events designed to engage both guests and locals. The hotel, which opened in October 2023, has quickly established itself as a cultural hub in the River Arts District, showcasing local talent and fostering community connections.
Upcoming events include the monthly women’s dinner series, Supper at Six, which will take place on April 16 and May 15. This series aims to create meaningful connections among attendees, featuring notable speakers such as Jennifer Hoffman, president of the Junior League of Asheville, and Meagan Harris, owner and editor of The Scout Guide Asheville. Tickets for the four-course dinner are priced at $45 per person.
Art and Community Engagement
On April 24, The Radical will host the opening of “It Was All A Dream,” the third installment of its quarterly art series. This exhibit will feature a collective of local artists, including Kevin Andrew, Colton Dion, Rebecca Harnish, and Stacy Kraft. Attendees can enjoy complimentary beverages while connecting with the artists in a space that serves as a living gallery. The exhibit is free and open to the public, conveniently located near Golden Hour for those wishing to dine afterward.

The hotel also plans to bring back its popular game night, Drag BingOh!, on April 26. Hosted by Miss Blue Ridge Pride, Alexis Black, this event promises lively performances and music, creating an inclusive atmosphere for all attendees. No RSVP is required for this event.
In addition to these special events, The Radical offers DJ sessions at The Roof from Thursday to Sunday, providing guests with live music and craft cocktails against the backdrop of stunning views over Asheville. The after/glow café and bar will also feature late-night DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays.
Celebrating Special Occasions
Mother’s Day brunch at Golden Hour is set for May 11 from 10 AM to 2 PM. This special event invites families to celebrate together with a curated menu featuring restaurant favorites and brunch classics. Reservations are encouraged for those looking to make lasting memories with their mothers.
Amy Michaelson Kelly, Founding Principal of Hatteras Sky, the firm behind The Radical, shared insights into how the hotel curates its seasonal programming to reflect Asheville’s creative spirit. “Our programming spotlights both emerging and established local talent… Our walls alone serve as a living gallery,” she noted. The hotel aligns its events with the city’s cultural calendar, supporting key festivals and events that resonate with the community.
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Kelly remarked on the enthusiasm surrounding events like “It Was All A Dream” and Drag BingOh!, stating, “We provide them with gallery space to showcase their work and highlight them through our marketing collateral.” This approach not only fosters inclusivity but also enhances artistic expression within the local community.
The Radical’s commitment to balancing hospitality with community engagement is evident in its mission. Kelly emphasized that creativity and the arts are integral to the hotel’s identity: “We are committed to being an ever-evolving canvas for AVL’s creative culture.”
The Radical Hotel has quickly become a destination for both travelers and locals alike. Housed in a repurposed 1920s warehouse that was once a cereal factory, it features 70 unique guest rooms and suites, a flagship wood-fire restaurant named Golden Hour, a rooftop bar, and the after/glow café and bar—all curated by local restaurateur Jacob Sessoms. Recently recognized as USA TODAY 10Best’s number two 2025 Readers’ Choice Award for Best New Hotel, The Radical continues to inspire guests with its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to local culture.
