Public Works staff planted a Red Maple tree, symbolizing growth. On the same day, volunteers at Sullivan Park participated in a Community Planting Day, planting native species to enhance stormwater management and support local wildlife. Free native plants were given away to encourage sustainable landscaping at home.

These events showcased Hendersonville’s dedication to environmental sustainability, highlighting the vital role of trees and native plants in urban ecosystems.
