Asheville – The 45th Annual Western North Carolina Parade of Homes will take place on the weekends of October 11-12 and 18-19, offering both in-person and virtual viewing options. Hosted by the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains (BABRM), the event will showcase a diverse array of residences, from newly constructed homes to innovative remodels, highlighting the creativity of the local building community.

Rescheduling Due to Hurricane Helene

The decision to hold this year’s Parade follows a challenging period for the community. The previous year’s event had been postponed due to Hurricane Helene, which left many builders and their teams facing personal loss and halted job sites. Megan Carroll, Executive Officer of BABRM, reflected on this experience, stating, “Rather than move forward during a time of hardship, we made space for recovery. That pause allowed us to come together in a different way—supporting one another and rebuilding our communities.” This shift has led to a renewed sense of purpose and excitement as the Parade returns to its traditional fall timeline.

Attendees can expect a variety of homes in different sizes, styles, price points, and locations. Among the highlights will be a stunning Weaverville home by Altamont Construction, which draws inspiration from the romance of the French countryside. Another notable entry will be the Raven House by Deltec, a round prefab home in Black Mountain that pushes architectural boundaries.

Enhanced Accessibility for Attendees

This year’s Parade emphasizes accessibility and flexibility for attendees. With both in-person tours and a robust virtual experience available, visitors will be able to explore homes through high-quality photos and immersive 3D tours. Carroll notes, “Whether visitors are exploring from their couch or mapping out a weekend visit, our platform is designed to meet people where they are—making it easy to discover the creativity and craftsmanship that define this region.”

The featured homes will not only showcase aesthetic appeal but also reflect the perseverance and ingenuity of local builders. Carroll expressed pride in highlighting sustainable building practices and custom details that bring homeowners’ visions to life. “These stories will be featured throughout our Parade magazine, giving visitors a deeper look at the people and ideas shaping homebuilding in Western North Carolina,” she added.

Community Initiatives and Partnerships

The Parade of Homes will also focus on community initiatives that extend beyond showcasing residences. Carroll emphasizes that many featured homes tell stories of collaboration and resilience. While some partnerships are still being finalized, she highlights ongoing efforts related to affordable housing and designs that promote inclusive, sustainable living. “These homes remind us that building well means building for everyone,” she stated.

As the event unfolds over the two weekends in October, anticipation grows for the full list of featured homes, which is set to be announced in the coming weeks. The Parade will not only celebrate architectural innovation but also reinforce the importance of community support and collaboration within the local building industry.
