Spring is finally here! There was a brief brush with a little more cold and a threat of flurries and snow, but for the most part, that went unrealized. It’s time to get out your spring apparel and enjoy all that this beautiful area (western North Carolina) has to offer. Happy Spring!

The spring LEAF Global Arts Retreat features rhythmic sounds of Cimafunk and other headliners. The Henderson County Cooperative Extension Center hosts an eclipse party to spread awareness of its services, offering a prime viewing location and hands-on educational activities for families attending the partial solar eclipse event. Real estate associations are organizing to resist attempts by Buncombe County to make it more difficult to own and operate Airbnbs. What is being called a ban is based on the assumption that converting short-term rentals to permanent low-income housing will substantially mitigate the county's affordable housing crisis. Many foods from Big Agra are lacking the nutrients these same foods had in the past, but locally grown foods offer more nutrients, cost savings, and also help to support our local farmers and artisans, and our local economy. ASAP is bringing it all together.
