Bullington Gardens brings magic to horticultural education with the annual fairy trail and the Dress Up Like A Fairy contest. A two-day festival benefiting the Children's Hope Alliance of Asheville is in The Grey Eagle Music Hall in Asheville on Aug. 17-18. Flat Rock Bistro Cinema is building a multi-state customer base for its live music, under its new owner Bryan Byrd. A diversity of political opinions is healthy. What is not OK is when one group resorts to threats and violence to coerce its views on others peacefully going about their own business. What is worse is when elected leaders appear to be doing the bidding of the intimidators. Rondell Lance and Van Duncan were interviewed for this article, not because they're both running for office, but because both have historically not been afraid to speak out against the nonsense that has been out of control too long.
