Update on Buncombe County’s New Fleet Building Construction
Bids came in way over expectations for a new repair shop for Buncombe County's rolling stock. Reasons included a desire to make the building operate solely on electricity featuring resistance heating, build a solar array across the full roof, and have a backup generator capable of running the building at full load for two days.
Restoration Update: City Hall
In recent years, the City of Asheville has spent millions of dollars fixing up City Hall. Staff members argue the building is on the National Register of Historic Places, so it is in the taxpayers' interest to conserve the landmark. This 100-year-old building, outfitted largely with original equipment until recently, is also the office space for several workers, who deserve not only functional HVAC but a safe workspace devoid of water damage.
I-26 Construction Could Conclude in a Year
