Restoration Update: City Hall
In recent years, the City of Asheville has spent millions of dollars fixing up City Hall. Staff members argue the building is on the National Register of Historic Places, so it is in the taxpayers' interest to conserve the landmark. This 100-year-old building, outfitted largely with original equipment until recently, is also the office space for several workers, who deserve not only functional HVAC but a safe workspace devoid of water damage.
Northside Future I-26 Work Is Here For A While
The four-year, $26 million plus project is being performed by Summers-Taylor Inc., of Johnson City, Tennessee as the lowest qualified bidder. The contract calls for completion by March 14, 2027.
