Asheville – Tickets are now available for the inaugural AFTER HOURS Summer Concert Series at the Asheville Museum of History, set to take place every third Tuesday of June, July, and August. The series will feature local musicians performing traditional and contemporary bluegrass and Appalachian mountain music, with the first concert scheduled for June 17, 2025.
Concert Lineup and Venue Details
The AFTER HOURS Summer Concert Series will kick off with Rudy’s Bluegrass Revue on June 17th, followed by Jack Devereux & Friends on July 15th, and concluding with Jackson Grimm on August 19th. Each concert will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with museum doors opening at 5:30 PM. The performances will be held on the front porch of the historic Smith-McDowell House, allowing attendees to enjoy the music from the front lawn while also having access to the museum galleries.
Steven Nickollof, Programs Manager at the Asheville Museum of History, expressed enthusiasm about the series, stating, “We are excited to bring local talent to our beautiful outdoor space… It’s a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to gather and enjoy music together.”
In addition to live performances, the AFTER HOURS series will offer games and activities for all ages. Museum admission is included in the ticket price, ensuring that all galleries remain open for exploration during the events.
Food and Beverage Options
Attendees can enhance their concert experience by pre-ordering curated picnic baskets from Finch Grocery. Each basket includes a bottle of wine and options for charcuterie or cold salads, with proceeds supporting both the Asheville Museum of History and Finch Grocery as they work to rebuild their location in Biltmore Village. Nickollof noted, “The picnic baskets are a great way to enjoy a meal while supporting local businesses.”
On concert nights, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and picnic-style dinners. Due to limited seating, it is recommended that attendees bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.
Tickets for the AFTER HOURS Summer Concert Series are priced at $15 for general admission, $10 for museum members, and free for children aged 16 and under. All funds raised will directly support the Asheville Museum of History. For more information and to purchase tickets, interested individuals can visit www.ashevillehistory.org.
